Defra confirms extension of Farming in Protected Landscapes programme until March 2026.
Farmers and land managers in England’s protected landscapes can now apply for funding from the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme until March 2026.
The funding programme is open to farmers and land managers (including from the private, public and charity sector) with land within the Shropshire Hills National Landscape.
The grants are for projects which are:
- helping to tackle the impacts of CLIMATE change
- helping NATURE recovery
- providing opportunities for PEOPLE to discover, enjoy and understand the landscape and its cultural heritage
- protecting or improving the quality and character of a PLACE
We have two programme advisers, Alison Jones and Helen Oliver, to help you through the application process. Since the start of the programme in July 2021, we have been able to support over 160 projects on farms in the Shropshire Hills. Short summaries of the projects are on our programme webpages.
