Shropshire Hills Summer Forum & Field Visits

This year, the Shropshire Hills Summer Forum & Field Visits are being held on Thursday 5th June at Rushbury Village Hall, 10am – 3.30pm.

The event is an open invitation for you to come along and find out more about the new 5-year Plan for the Shropshire Hills National Landscape.  The Plan is out for public consultation from May to July 2025.

The Plan is called ‘Thriving in Balance with Nature’. It aims to guide sustainable future directions for the Shropshire Hills landscape and the challenges we face such as the declines in nature and water quality, climate change, and the pressures on farming.

There’s already a lot of great activity happening on all these topics, but we need to do more.  Through short presentations, information stalls and field visits, the Forum will showcase some of the brilliant activities happening locally to help protect and regenerate this special landscape.

It's also a great opportunity to meet some of the many people involved in looking after the Shropshire Hills landscape and find out how you can get involved in community action or as an individual.

Format for the day:

  • The morning includes short presentations, refreshments and informal networking and chat time.
  • The field visits will set off at 1pm.  Travel is by minibus, and we will return to Rushbury Village Hall by 3.30pm. You are welcome to attend just the morning session if preferred.

The Forum is free, but booking is required.  To see the programme for the day and to book you place please see our event page
